Your Progress Question 1 of 13
QUESTION 01
Do you know your exact CRS score — not an estimate, but based on the official IRCC calculator?

Many applicants use third-party calculators that overestimate scores by 15–40 points. This creates false confidence and wasted application fees.

QUESTION 02
Do you know the CRS cutoff score from the last 5 Express Entry draws in your category?

Cutoff scores shift with each draw. A score competitive 3 months ago may now be 30–50 points below the current threshold.

QUESTION 03
Do you know which Express Entry pool you qualify for — FSW, CEC, or FSTP — and have you confirmed you actually meet the eligibility criteria?

Applicants frequently enter the wrong pool and submit profiles that are immediately disqualified without notification.

QUESTION 04
Have you completed an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from an IRCC-designated body — and is it still valid?

ECAs expire after 5 years. An expired ECA means your education does not count toward your points. A new one can take 3–6 months to process.

QUESTION 05
Do you know how your foreign degree was classified by the ECA — and does it match what you've claimed in your Express Entry profile?

A 3-year foreign degree is often classified as a 2-year diploma in Canada. Unintentional misrepresentation can result in a 5-year immigration ban.

QUESTION 06
If you work in a regulated profession (doctor, nurse, engineer, accountant), have you confirmed a pathway to licensure with the relevant Canadian body?

Foreign credentials in regulated professions do not automatically qualify you to practice in Canada. Licensing can take 1–3 years after arrival.

QUESTION 07
Are your IELTS or CELPIP scores from within the last 2 years — and have you confirmed they won't expire before your ITA or PR approval?

Language results expire 2 years from test date. Results expiring mid-process can cause application refusal at any stage.

QUESTION 08
Do you know the exact CLB level your test scores translate to across all 4 components — and how each affects your CRS points?

A single component at CLB 6 instead of CLB 7 can reduce your CRS by 20+ points. Many applicants don't realise their lowest score is the bottleneck.

QUESTION 09
Have you confirmed your job duties — not just your title — match the NOC code you are claiming in your profile?

IRCC officers compare your duties letter to the NOC description line by line. A mismatch in a senior role can result in refusal for misrepresentation.

QUESTION 10
Do you have documented proof — offer letters, pay stubs, tax records, or employer letters — for every position you are claiming?

Documentation gaps are among the top 3 reasons for Express Entry refusals. Former employers may not cooperate after you leave.

QUESTION 11
Do you have the required settlement funds — liquid, accessible, and documentable — and do you know the exact amount for your family size?

Requirements are updated annually. Funds must be provably accessible and not a loan — the amount alone is not sufficient.

QUESTION 12
Has every family member included in your application had a medical exam through an IRCC-approved panel physician — and is it still valid?

Medical exams expire after 12 months. Expiry mid-application means repeating the process, causing costly delays.

QUESTION 13
Have you and your spouse reviewed your full criminal history — including arrests, charges, or incidents that did not result in conviction?

Criminal inadmissibility is broader than most assume. Even a minor charge decades ago may require a rehabilitation application taking 12–18 months.
