Canada invited 4500 candidates to apply for permanent residence in its 165th Express Entry draw on October 14 2020.
The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required or consideration under this draw was 471. This draw’s CRS was same as that of the last draw of September 14, 2020 and used the tie break rule of applications submitted on or before September 1, 2020 at 12:11:23 UTC, i.e., if more than one candidate has the lowest score of 471, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles. With this invitation, Canada has now issued 82,850 ITAs this year. Recent draws have been inviting 4200 candidates per draw in recent times. This draw has selected 4500 candidates showing a trend of selecting more applicants to be able to meet immigration targets for this year. There appears to be a trend in gradual decrease in CRS points as we move further in 2020. This also was the fourth consecutive draw to include Federal Skilled Worker candidates as well making it the sixth “All programs” draw of 2020. Canada has conducted 32 Express Entry Draws this year so far.
