Give Your Family a Plan B With Dominica Citizenship by Investment
You want a second passport that does its job without stretching your budget. Dominica’s program, open since 1993, has the lowest entry point of the Caribbean programs and a simple one-payment route. AIA prepares your file, checks your documents and guides it through government due diligence.
since 1991
You want a plan B, but the price and the paperwork hold you back
Many families want a second passport and keep putting it off. The price looks high, the programs look alike and the paperwork looks risky.
Dominica answers the price question first. A single applicant contributes from US$200,000, and the Economic Diversification Fund route needs no property and no prior stay.
How it feels to put it off
You feel stuck between wanting security and fearing a costly mistake. You worry about picking the wrong program or filing a weak application that gets refused.
What Dominica gives you
- The lowest Caribbean entry point, so your budget goes further for the same type of passport
- One contribution and no property, so there is nothing to buy, manage or sell, and the process stays simple
- No prior stay needed, so you keep your job, business and schools where they are
- A program open since 1993, so you rely on a long track record and feel sure of your choice
- Family coverage, so your spouse, children and eligible parents are protected together
- Dual citizenship, so you add a passport instead of swapping one, subject to your home country’s rules
You do not have to work this out alone
We know it is hard to tell one Caribbean program from another. You want someone who knows how each program works and will tell you honestly whether Dominica fits.

Dominica citizenship by investment requirements
Dominica asks for a detailed file. Here is what the government looks at.
Due diligence
Applicants aged 16 and over provide police certificates from their country of birth, citizenship and residence. Fingerprints are taken in front of an authorized officer.
Source of funds
You provide 12 months of bank statements, a bank reference letter, a notarized affidavit of source of funds and supporting records such as tax filings or business accounts.
Health and identity
You need certified copies of passports, birth certificates and marriage records. Applicants aged 12 and over complete HIV testing, plus routine blood and urine tests.
Family
You can include a spouse, dependent children and eligible parents. Extra fees apply for each dependant, and age limits decide who qualifies.
Forms
The file includes a disclosure form, a fingerprint and photograph verification form, a medical questionnaire and an investment agreement. Non-English documents need certified translation.

What it costs, and what waiting costs
Dominica is the lowest-cost Caribbean program, and we show every line up front. Set it against the price of staying with one passport: a missed deal, a cancelled move or a family with no plan B.
Two possible futures
A year from now, you may still be weighing options while the rules shift around you. Fees, visit requirements and due diligence standards across the Caribbean programs are changing.
Or your family holds a Dominica passport, your file is clean and your plan B is in place. You feel relieved, and you did it on a budget that made sense.
The cost of staying put
Dominica has the lowest entry point today, and a regional regulator, ECCIRA, is standardizing the Caribbean programs. Applying under current terms helps you avoid changes that add cost or steps.
Your ultimate success
- Relieved: your family has a plan B
- Confident: you travel and do business without visa fear
- Protected: your children inherit more options

Dominica citizenship by investment FAQs
Is Dominica citizenship by investment worth the cost?
Dominica is the lowest-cost Caribbean program, from US$200,000 for a single applicant. Set that against what one passport cannot do: replace a home base in a crisis, reverse a visa refusal or protect your whole family. Most families treat it as a plan B they hope never to use.
How much does Dominica citizenship by investment cost?
A single applicant contributes from US$200,000 to the Economic Diversification Fund, and a family of four usually pays from about US$250,000. Government and due diligence fees come on top. Your consultation gives you an all-in figure for your family.
How long does Dominica citizenship by investment take?
The official program page says approval typically takes 3 to 4 months, and many files take somewhat longer depending on due diligence. Your own time is about 30 minutes to start and a few weeks to gather documents. We handle the filing and follow-up.
Do I need to live in Dominica before I apply?
No. You do not need prior residency to apply, so you keep your job, business and schools. The Caribbean programs are moving toward short in-person visit requirements, and we confirm the current rule before you file.
Will my Dominica application be approved?
Approval depends on your record, your source of funds and your nationality, and nobody can guarantee it. We pre-screen every file before you pay, which removes most avoidable refusals. AIA has guided 25,000+ families since 1991.
What is the Dominica real estate option?
You buy approved property worth at least US$200,000 and hold it for at least three years, and you also pay government fees. It suits investors who want an asset they can sell later. The contribution route has fewer moving parts.
Can my family be included in a Dominica application?
Yes. You can include a spouse, dependent children and eligible parents, with extra fees for each person. Age limits apply, so we check who qualifies before you file.
Can I keep my current citizenship?
Dominica allows dual citizenship, but your home country decides whether you can keep your first passport. We check both sides before you file.
Which nationalities can apply for Dominica citizenship?
Most nationalities can apply to Dominica’s program, but the country keeps its own list of restricted nationalities and runs its own checks. Your home country’s dual citizenship rules also matter. We confirm both before you pay anything.
Is the process confidential?
Applications are handled privately, but governments can share information under international rules. A second passport also does not change where you owe tax. We explain both points in your consultation.
