Key Takeaways

  • Rank measures visa-free reach. It counts the destinations a passport opens without a prior visa, including visa on arrival and electronic authorisations.
  • The seven sit far apart. They open 83 to 157 destinations, and St Kitts and Nevis ranks highest of the seven at 22nd.
  • A higher rank is not a better programme. It says nothing about cost, stay rules, tax or whether your country lets you keep your first passport.
  • Canada and the United States need a visa on all seven. No programme we cover opens them without one.
  • Ranks move. We refresh them daily, and we confirm the current figures with you before you file.

How do the seven citizenship by investment passports rank?

The board below puts the seven in order, best rank first. Each card shows the rank, how many destinations the passport opens without a prior visa, and its rank trend over the last ten years. Figures refresh daily from the Global Passport Ranking.

The bar on each card compares that passport with the highest-ranked passport in the world.

How do they compare with well-known passports?

Our seven passports rank from 22nd to 62nd in the Global Passport Ranking. The list below sets them beside well-known passports, with ours marked in bronze. The bars use one scale, so you can compare reach at a glance.

Which doors does each passport open?

Every passport opens a different set of destinations. The table shows ten popular ones, plus Canada and the United States. Yes means entry without a prior visa, including visa on arrival, and online authorisation means you apply online before you fly.

None of the seven opens Canada or the United States without a visa. Read what that means on our Benefits page.

How is the Global Passport Ranking worked out?

It counts the destinations a passport holder can enter without a visa in advance, including visa on arrival and electronic travel authorisations, and ranks passports by that count. The data is IATA-based and updates here every day. eVisas are not counted, and passports with the same count share a rank.

What does a higher rank not tell you?

A rank tells you how far a passport travels without a visa, and nothing else. It does not show the cost, the stay rules, the tax effect or the risk of a programme changing. Use it as one input, not the decision.

  • Cost. Each programme page shows what the route costs and what comes on top.
  • Stay rules. Most programmes ask for little or no stay, and a regional 30-day rule is agreed but not yet in force. See the status table.
  • Your home country. Some countries end your citizenship if you take another. Read our dual citizenship guide first.
  • Programme changes. Fees, thresholds and travel rules change, and the US has restricted entry for two of the seven passports since 1 January 2026.

How do you use the ranking to choose a programme?

Start with where you want to travel, then check the stay rules, the cost and your home country’s law. A passport that ranks lower can still be the right fit if it opens the places you actually go, or costs far less.

Compare the programmes one by one: St Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Dominica, St Lucia, Turkey and Nauru.

Frequently asked questions

It ranks the world’s passports by the number of destinations their holders can enter without a prior visa, counting visa on arrival and electronic travel authorisations. The data is IATA-based, and we refresh it on this page every day. It measures visa-free reach, not the quality of a citizenship programme.

St Kitts and Nevis ranks highest of the seven today, at 22nd with 157 visa-free destinations. The order can change as countries update their visa rules, so the board on this page updates every day. Ranking first does not make a programme the right fit for you.

Nauru ranks lowest of the seven today, at 62nd with 83 visa-free destinations. A lower rank can still suit you if the passport opens the places you travel to and the programme costs less. We compare access before you choose.

The seven programmes we cover open 83 to 157 destinations without a prior visa, depending on the passport. Counts include visa on arrival and electronic authorisations but not eVisas. Check the board on this page for today’s figure for each one.

No. A rank counts visa-free destinations and nothing else. Cost, stay rules, family cover, tax and your home country’s law matter just as much, so compare those too.

No. Nationals of all seven programmes need a visa for Canada and the United States. Since 1 January 2026 the US has also restricted entry for Dominica and Antigua and Barbuda nationals who did not already hold a US visa.

Every day. The figures on this page refresh automatically from IATA-based data, and we confirm the current position with you before you file.
