Indonesia Golden Visa: A 5 or 10 Year Stay for Investors
You want a long stay in Indonesia without a work sponsor. The Indonesia Golden Visa gives 5 or 10 years for an individual who places US$350,000 or US$700,000 in government bonds, listed shares or deposits. Founding a company needs more: US$2,500,000 or US$5,000,000.
Three amounts for three kinds of investor
Indonesia's Golden Visa has separate amounts for an individual, an individual who founds a company, and a corporate director. Guides often mix them. The right row depends on whether you set up a company.
What it looks like from the outside:
- An individual amount of US$350,000 or US$700,000 that applies only if you do not found a company.
- Higher amounts of US$2.5 million to US$50 million for company routes.
- A rule change on investor stay permits that some pages mention.
How it feels:
- You worry you quote the wrong row.
- You fear investing before you know the rule you fall under.
- You feel unsure whom to trust when guides show three amounts.
You do not have to match your case to the right row alone
We know how hard it is to pick the right amount when the page lists three. You want someone who has read the rule on the official page, tells you honestly when a route does not fit, and stays with you until the file is filed.
What we have done:
- 35+ years in immigration and investment migration
- 25,000+ families guided since 1991
- 3rd Generation in the immigration industry
- 2026 Canadian Choice Award winner
What we believe:
- Honesty first: we tell you when a route does not fit, before you move money.
- Checked rules: every figure on this page is read from an official source and dated.
- Your plan, not a template: the right route depends on your goals, your family and your funds.
We believe you should know your row before you place a rupiah.
What you get
| Feature | Benefit | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| A stay of 5 or 10 years | You pick the length by the amount you place | You plan a long stay with a known end date |
| No limited stay permit step | The official release says holders no longer process an ITAS at an immigration office | Fewer counters after you arrive |
| Three kinds of asset for individuals | Government bonds, listed shares or deposits | You choose the asset that suits you |
| An online system | The visa runs through the eVisa site, with the deposit payable online | You can start from your home country |
| Separate company routes | Founders and corporate directors have their own rows | Your row matches your plan |
Where it takes you: a 5 or 10 year Golden Visa for Indonesia. This is a long-stay visa, not a passport.
Is it right for you?
An honest answer before you move funds.
| A good fit if | Consider another route if |
|---|---|
| You can place US$350,000 or US$700,000 in Indonesian assets | You plan to found a company: that row asks for US$2,500,000 or US$5,000,000 |
| You do not plan to found a company | You want a quick, small route: the lowest individual amount is US$350,000 |
| You want a stay of 5 or 10 years without a sponsor | You cannot keep the investment in place |
| You can show where your funds come from | Your funds cannot be documented |

What you need
You need to place the amount for your row in Indonesian assets and apply online. The official release lists the assets that count.
What the immigration releases list:
- Your row: an individual who does not found a company, an individual who founds a company, or a corporate director or commissioner.
- For an individual who does not found a company: US$350,000 (5 years) or US$700,000 (10 years) in Indonesian government bonds, public company shares, or savings or deposits in Indonesia.
- An application through the eVisa system, with the immigration deposit payable online.
The legal basis is Permenkumham No. 22 of 2023 and Finance Ministry Regulation No. 82 of 2023.
The routes and rules
The release sets amounts by row. The amounts are those in the Directorate General of Immigration release of 25 July 2024.
| Investor | 5 years | 10 years |
|---|---|---|
| Individual, no company | US$350,000 (about Rp 5.6 billion) | US$700,000 (about Rp 11.3 billion) |
| Individual, founds a company | US$2,500,000 (about Rp 40 billion) | US$5,000,000 (about Rp 81 billion) |
| Corporate director, commissioner or parent-company representative | US$25,000,000 (about Rp 406 billion) | US$50,000,000 (about Rp 813 billion) |
**Who can be included. Your partner sets out the family rules for your case before you commit funds. The same release lists other Golden Visa categories, such as global talent and former citizens, which this page does not cover.
What it costs, and what waiting costs
The investment is the larger cost, and the immigration deposit sits on top. Set both against the cost of a wrong start.
| Item | What the official release says |
|---|---|
| Application and processing fee | No separate fee is stated |
| Immigration deposit | Payable online; no amount is stated in the official source |

What could change: the amounts, the assets that count and the stay permit rules. What we do about it: we re-read the official pages before each update and show the date.
After you have the visa
You keep the visa by keeping the investment in place. The release says holders do not need to process a limited stay permit at an immigration office.
- Length: 5 or 10 years, by the amount you placed.
- System: the visa runs through the eVisa site.
- Changes: we re-read the official pages before each update and show the date.
Two possible futures
A year from now, you may still be comparing guides while the rules shift. You hold a brochure, a number from one adviser that contradicts another, and no date on any of it.
Or your family has a visa in Indonesia, your route is one that exists, and your file went in clean. You feel relieved, and you chose on facts you could check.
The cost of staying put: routes and rules change, and each change can add cost or close a door.
Your ultimate success:
- Relieved: your family has a base in South East Asia
- Confident: you chose a route that exists today
- Protected: the people you worry about are covered
- In control: you decided on your terms, with the facts

Frequently asked questions
What does the Indonesia Golden Visa really cost?
An individual who does not found a company places US$350,000 for 5 years or US$700,000 for 10 years. An individual who founds a company places US$2,500,000 or US$5,000,000. The release states no separate application fee, and taxes and professional fees sit on top.
How long does it take?
Processing time depends on the authority and on how complete your file is. We walk you through each step and its timing before you commit funds.
Will my application be approved?
No route promises approval, and we make no approval claims. What we control is the file: the right row, documented funds and an investment in an allowed asset. We tell you before you pay if your case does not fit.
What is the Indonesia Golden Visa?
The Golden Visa is a 5 or 10 year visa for foreigners who place a set amount in Indonesia. The Directorate General of Immigration launched it officially on 25 July 2024.
What can I invest in?
For an individual who does not found a company: Indonesian government bonds, public company shares, or savings or deposits in Indonesia.
Do I need to set up a company?
No, not on the US$350,000 and US$700,000 rows. Founding a company moves you to the US$2,500,000 and US$5,000,000 rows.
How long is the visa?
Five or ten years, depending on the amount you place.
Can I work in Indonesia with it?
Your partner sets out the work rights for your case before you commit.
Can my family be included?
Your partner sets out the family rules for your case before you commit funds.
What if the rules change after I apply?
A later official page mentions a different figure for investor stay permits. The status box shows the date we last read the releases.
Do you recommend bonds, shares or deposits?
No. We do not recommend or sell investments and we do not quote returns. We explain what the immigration releases require and bring in a local partner when your case is qualified.
