CEC draws 2026 got smaller and the cut-off got higher. The rounds data that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) publishes (checked October 9, 2026) lists 15 Canadian Experience Class rounds from February 17 to September 29, 2026. They invited 41,250 candidates. The cut-off moved from 508 in the first round to 518 in the latest.

What do the CEC draws 2026 numbers show?

Across the 15 rounds, IRCC invited a total of 41,250 candidates. If you want the full picture of who the Canadian Experience Class is built for, look at the extremes:

  • Largest Draw: 6,000 invitations on February 17 (Draw 396, cut-off: 508)

  • Smallest Draw: 1,000 invitations on August 18 (Draw 436, cut-off: 523)

  • Lowest Cut-off: 507 on March 17

  • Highest Cut-off: 523 on August 18

Both extremes belong to the same program. If you want the full picture of who the Canadian Experience Class is built for, start there.

How much smaller did CEC draws 2026 get?

Draw sizes dropped significantly as the year progressed:

  • Early 2026 (Feb 17 – Mar 31): The first four rounds invited 16,250 candidates (averaging ~4,060 per round).

  • Late 2026 (Aug 18 – Sep 29): The last four rounds invited only 7,000 candidates (averaging exactly 1,750 per round, with the final three draws capped at 2,000 each).

IRCC’s file gives no reason for the round sizes, so we cannot confirm one. For January, see our post on the January 2026 CEC draws.

What does a 518 cut-off mean for your profile?

It means you must target the 516–523 score band rather than hoping for a drop. The latest CEC cut-off was 518, meaning profiles at 517 or lower were not invited. From May 27 to September 29, every CEC cut-off stabilized between 516 and 523.

Check your number with our CRS calculator. We also explain what an earlier round meant for profiles in our post on the CEC cut-off of 515.

What should CEC candidates do next?

Start with your score, then compare your options. Confirm your CRS points with the calculator. Next, check whether French-language or provincial routes fit your profile. Keep your reference letters and language test results current so you can act fast if an invitation arrives.

French results can move a score a long way, and our post on French speaker draws shows how those rounds have changed.
