BC PNP: Turn Your B.C. Job Offer Into Permanent Residence
British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) invites workers through Skills Immigration, now organized around three priorities: Care, Build and Innovate. You need a full-time, indeterminate job offer from an eligible B.C. employer to register, and the nomination application fee is $1,750. Check where you stand with our PNP eligibility checker.

What is BC PNP Skills Immigration?
BC PNP Skills Immigration is British Columbia’s economic immigration program for experienced workers with a full-time, indeterminate job offer from an eligible B.C. employer. It has two streams, Skilled Worker and Health Authority, plus the Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support Initiative.
A nomination lets you apply to IRCC for permanent residence. If you use the Express Entry BC (EEBC) option, it adds 600 CRS points to your Express Entry profile.
What happens if you wait to apply?
BC does not publish how many invitations it will issue, and its priorities and ineligible occupations changed twice in 2026. If your job offer fits today’s priorities, waiting risks the rules moving against you. See recent invitations on our PNP draw tracker.
Why workers choose the BC PNP
- 600 CRS points: the EEBC option is open to Skilled Worker and Health Authority nominees
- Priority occupations: healthcare, education, childcare, construction trades and highly skilled innovators
- Health Authority stream: a route for public health employees, physicians, nurse practitioners and midwives
- Free registration: you only pay the $1,750 fee if you are invited
- Co-op terms can count: paid co-op work may qualify as experience
- Family included: bring your spouse and children
Is the BC PNP right for you?
An honest answer before you spend money on tests and fees.
A good fit if you have
- A full-time, indeterminate job offer from an eligible B.C. employer
- A TEER 0 to 3 occupation, or an eligible health occupation
- At least two years of skilled work experience in the last ten years
- CLB 4 in all skills if your job is TEER 2 to 5
- Family income that meets the minimum for your household size and region
Consider another route if
- Your occupation is on BC’s ineligible list, such as executive assistants, bookkeepers or retail supervisors
- You were planning to use the closed Entry Level and Semi-Skilled stream
- Your job offer is temporary or part-time
Express Entry, another province’s stream or a work permit first may fit better. Compare all provinces.
BC PNP eligibility requirements
You must meet your stream’s rules and prove every claim with documents. Here is what the BC PNP and IRCC check.
Language proficiency
CELPIP, IELTS, PTE Core, TEF Canada or TCF Canada. TEER 2 to 5 jobs need CLB 4 in all four skills, and TEER 0 and 1 jobs only need a test if you claim language points.
Education
At least secondary school, plus the qualifications your occupation needs. Regulated jobs need licensing or registration, such as the BC Care Aide Registry for NOC 33102.
Work experience
Work experience from the last 10 years, typically two years of skilled work. Work done on a study permit does not count, though paid co-op terms may.
Job offer
A full-time, indeterminate job offer from an eligible B.C. employer, in hand before you register. Health Authority applicants must work for, or be supported by, a B.C. public health authority.
Admissibility
A medical exam with an IRCC panel physician for you and your dependants, and police certificates from every country you have lived in for 6+ months since age 18.

Two Skills Immigration streams and one temporary initiative
Skilled Worker
For TEER 0 to 3 workers with a full-time, indeterminate B.C. job offer. The EEBC option adds 600 CRS points through Express Entry.
Health Authority
For direct employees of a B.C. public health authority, and physicians, nurse practitioners and midwives with a health authority’s support. EEBC is available.
Rural and Remote Health Support
A temporary, one-time initiative for health support workers already working for a B.C. health authority in a rural or remote community. It is not an ongoing stream, so check the BC PNP Skills Immigration guide to see whether registration is open.

BC PNP FAQs
What is the BC PNP Skills Immigration program?
It is British Columbia’s economic immigration program for experienced workers with a job offer from an eligible B.C. employer. It has two streams, Skilled Worker and Health Authority, plus the Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support Initiative, each with its own eligibility rules.
Do I need a job offer to register for BC PNP Skills Immigration?
Yes. Every stream needs a full-time, indeterminate job offer from an eligible B.C. employer before you register. The only exception is the Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support Initiative, which needs you to already work in an eligible occupation with a B.C. health authority.
What are the Care, Build and Innovate priorities in the BC PNP?
Since April 2026, B.C. issues invitations under three priorities. Care covers healthcare, education, childcare and veterinary jobs, Build covers construction trades and infrastructure, and Innovate covers highly skilled workers who drive productivity and innovation.
How much does it cost to apply to the BC PNP?
Registration is free. The nomination application fee is $1,750 for applications submitted on or after January 22, 2026, up from $1,475.
What is the minimum language requirement for BC PNP Skills Immigration?
You need CLB 4 in listening, speaking, reading and writing if your job is TEER 2, 3, 4 or 5. TEER 0 and 1 jobs do not need test results at registration unless you claim language points.
How long does the BC PNP take to process an application?
The BC PNP does not publish a fixed processing target for Skills Immigration. Current times are posted on the official BC PNP website and change with application volume.
How much does a BC nomination increase my Express Entry score?
A nomination adds 600 points to your CRS score if you use the Express Entry BC (EEBC) option, which is open to the Skilled Worker and Health Authority streams.
What happened to BC’s Entry Level and Semi-Skilled stream?
It closed permanently, with final invitations in December 2024. B.C. also ended its dedicated Tech Pilot draws that year, and neither option takes new registrations.
Which occupations are not eligible for BC PNP Skills Immigration?
For applications submitted after June 13, 2026, several jobs are ineligible, including executive assistants, HR and recruitment officers, bookkeepers, administrative assistants, retail and food service supervisors, real estate agents and religious workers.
Does meeting the minimum requirements guarantee a BC PNP invitation?
No. Meeting the minimum only lets you register. Registrations are scored and ranked, and invitations go to the highest-scoring candidates whose occupations match B.C.’s current priorities. Score yourself with our BC PNP points calculator.
