The October 15 CEC draw of 2026 invited 2,500 Canadian Experience Class candidates at a cut-off of 519. That is draw 449 in the official rounds data from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). It is the 18th CEC round of 2026, and its cut-off sits near the top of this year’s range.

We took every figure from IRCC’s Express Entry rounds data on October 17, 2026, and matched it against our 2026 Express Entry draw tracker. For all three rounds from October 13 to 16 in one place, see our Express Entry draws October 2026 roundup. Program rules come from IRCC’s Canadian Experience Class page, checked the same day.

What happened in the October 15 CEC draw?

IRCC invited 2,500 Canadian Experience Class candidates in draw 449 on October 15, 2026. The lowest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score invited was 519. People who scored exactly 519 got in only if they entered the pool before the tie-breaking time of September 21, 2026 at 19:00:47 UTC.

  • Draw number: 449
  • Program: Canadian Experience Class
  • Invitations: 2,500
  • CRS cut-off: 519
  • Tie-breaking rule: September 21, 2026 at 19:00:47 UTC

How does the October 15 CEC draw compare with earlier rounds in 2026?

The cut-off of 519 is one point above the 518 needed on September 29 and the same as September 15. Across all 18 CEC rounds this year, cut-offs have stayed between 507 and 523. The average is about 515. So this round asked for slightly more than a typical 2026 CEC round.

The size went up. At 2,500 invitations, this was the biggest CEC round since August 5, when IRCC invited 3,000. The four rounds in between invited 1,000, 2,000, 2,000 and 2,000.

CEC rounds have issued 57,750 invitations in 2026, more than any other round type. That is 40.3% of the 143,467 Express Entry invitations so far this year. Our CEC cut-off record for 2026 lists every round.

How often does IRCC hold a CEC draw?

IRCC has held a CEC round about every two weeks since late June. The gap before October 15 was 16 days, from September 29. Most gaps this year were 13 to 16 days. The longest were 27 to 29 days, in the first half of the year. IRCC does not publish a schedule, so this pattern is not a promise.

I cannot confirm when the next CEC round will be. IRCC said on October 16, 2026 that rounds will pause for up to two weeks while it recalculates scores for the November 3 changes. That pause may push the next CEC round later than the usual two-week rhythm.

Who can be invited in a CEC draw?

You need at least one year of skilled work in Canada in the three years before you apply. IRCC counts that as 1,560 hours, or 30 hours a week for 12 months. Part-time work counts too, as long as the hours add up to 1,560.

The work must be paid, done while you were allowed to work in Canada, and in a job at TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).

  • Not counted: work done while you studied full time, including co-op terms.
  • Not counted: self-employment, except for some physicians under a temporary public policy.
  • Not counted: volunteer work, unpaid internships and work without authorization.
  • Also required: approved language test results that meet the minimum in all four abilities, and a plan to live outside Quebec.

There is no education requirement for the CEC. Education still adds CRS points, so it can lift your score.

What should you do if your CRS is below 519?

Look past the CEC round for another way in. On October 12, 2026, IRCC counted 21,638 profiles scoring 501 to 600, and 71,612 scoring 451 to 500. Those counts cover the whole pool, not just CEC candidates. But they show how many people sit just under this cut-off.

  1. Raise your language scores: this is often the biggest lever. Our guide to CRS 501 to 600 strategy walks through it.
  2. Look at category rounds: French, health care and trades rounds have needed far lower scores in 2026.
  3. Update job offer details before November 3: IRCC says this is needed to get the new job offer points.
