The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) draw of October 8, 2026 invited at least 283 Skills Immigration candidates in four priority groups, according to WelcomeBC. Early childhood educators needed a score of 99, construction trades 94, veterinary care 86 and health care workers 76. Construction drew the most invitations, at 115.

The low score for health care is the number to watch. A health worker with a modest score had a far better shot than a construction worker or an educator.

Who was invited in the BC PNP draw on October 8, 2026?

Four targeted groups were invited. According to WelcomeBC, the invitations were distributed as follows:

  • Build: Construction Trades: 115 invitations (minimum score: 94)

  • Care: Childcare: 86 invitations (minimum score: 99)

  • Care: Health: 82 invitations (minimum score: 76)

  • Care: Veterinary Care: fewer than 5 invitations (minimum score: 86)

Adding the three published counts gives 283 invitations. The veterinary group adds fewer than 5 more, so the true total is somewhere between 284 and 287.

Why was the health care cut-off so much lower?

The cut-off is the lowest score that still got an invitation, and BC sets it separately for each group. Health care stopped at 76, while childcare needed 99 and construction 94. That gap of 18 to 23 points means BC reached much further down the health care list to fill the spots it chose.

For a health worker, that makes a BC registration worth a hard look. For an early childhood educator, it means a score in the high 90s is the bar right now.

How does this BC PNP draw compare with September 24?

The September 24, 2026 draw went the other way: it targeted high earners, not care and trades. WelcomeBC shows 426 invitations for Innovate: High Economic Impact profiles paid at least $52 an hour and $105,000 a year, in jobs at NOC TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 (the higher skill levels in Canada’s job codes), plus 288 on points with a minimum score of 131. That is 714 invitations in one day.

So in two weeks BC invited about 1,000 skilled workers through two very different doors. Which door fits you depends on your job and your wage, not only your score.

Entrepreneurs had their own round on September 22. Read our post on the BC PNP entrepreneur draw cut-off of 119, and see every province on our PNP draw results for 2026.

What should you do after this BC PNP draw?

Check which priority group your job falls in, then compare your score with that group’s cut-off, not the overall draw. BC selects inside each group, so a 90 can be strong in one group and too low in another. If your job is not in a priority group, you are waiting on a general draw.

Keep your registration current. A new job offer, a wage increase or a better language score can move you into a different group or raise your score.
