Across all ten PEI PNP draws 2026 has seen so far, the province issued 1,319 invitations. Every one went to Labour and Express Entry candidates, and business candidates got zero, according to PEI’s Office of Immigration.

The October draw is less than half the size of the September one. It also came just 20 days after the September 17 round, the shortest gap between PEI draws this year. PEI has not said whether the two facts are linked.

Who is PEI inviting right now?

PEI says it is choosing skilled workers in higher-demand sectors such as healthcare, trades and manufacturing. Its draw page also warns that sales and service workers may not get an invitation at this time. Candidates can be ranked on language, education, work experience, a PEI job offer and past Canadian work.

The January 15 round was different. PEI says it gave priority to graduates of UPEI, Holland College and Collège de l’ÃŽle that month. If you studied on the Island, keep your profile current.

PEI PNP draws 2026 business results: why are there none?

PEI’s page lists zero Business Work Permit or Entrepreneur invitations for every 2026 draw, with no minimum score shown. The province has not published a reason on that page. If you planned to buy or start a business on the Island, the 2026 record gives no sign of when an invitation might come.

Entrepreneurs still have options, and our PEI entrepreneur immigration guide explains how the stream works, so you are ready if draws restart. Other provinces may suit you better in the meantime. Our look at which province is easiest for PR in 2026 compares them.

What should you do if you are in the PEI pool?

An Expression of Interest is not an application. It only tells PEI you want to be considered, and the office says it can limit intake or leave people out of draws. Keep your profile accurate, and work on the factors PEI ranks, like language scores and a PEI job offer.

If you are also in the Express Entry pool, a provincial nomination adds 600 CRS points. Our breakdown of PNP draw cut-offs in 2026 shows what nominated candidates scored. For stream details, see our PEI PNP skilled worker page.
