What are the PR government fees?

PR government fees are the payments you make to IRCC when you apply for permanent residence. They have two parts: a processing fee and the right of permanent residence fee, known as the RPRF. You pay biometrics separately.

These are not your only costs. Language tests, an ECA, a medical exam and police certificates add to the total, and each provider sets its own price.

Who pays which fee?

You pay for yourself. Your spouse or partner pays the same amount, and each dependent child pays $270. You can pay the RPRF with your application or when IRCC approves it.

Why it matters

  • Total: fees grow with your family size
  • Payment: you pay inside your secure IRCC account by debit or credit card
  • Changes: IRCC updates fees, so check the live list
  • Extra costs: tests, an ECA, a medical exam and police certificates are separate
